Leona Maguire’s newest bid for a primary Girls’s Irish Open title started in regular style as she carded a one-under 71 in Thursday’s first spherical on the Ok Membership.
The 31-year-old, who was chosen as one among European captain Anna Nordqvist’s Solheim Cup wildcard picks earlier this month, carded three birdies and two bogeys to take a seat eight photographs off breakaway chief Casandra Alexander of South Africa.
Maguire, who has missed 11 of 19 cuts this season, birdied two of the 4 par-fives and likewise picked up a shot on the par-three second – her eleventh gap – with dropped photographs on the sixth and sixteenth holes.
