Rising star Miyu Yamashita tied an LPGA Tour scoring file as she surged to a dominant nine-shot victory on the CPKC Ladies’s Open in Canada.
The 25-year-old from Japan made an eight-foot birdie putt on the 18th gap to finish a four-under 66 on Sunday and end the week on a 23-under 257.
It matched Kim Sei-young 72-hole tour file lowest whole, with the South Korean additionally carding 257 when ending 31 beneath at Thornberry Creek in 2018.
Yamashita broke the match’s file of 262, set by South Korea’s Ko Jin-young in 2019.
Having dominated from the opening spherical, Yamashita headed into the ultimate day with a six-shot lead and prolonged that with six birdies in a closing four-under 66 on the Royal Mayfair course.
Her compatriot Yuri Yoshida completed a distant second at 14 beneath par, whereas Kim Sei-young was one other shot again in third.
It’s a fourth LPGA victory in 13 months for Yamashita, who was named the tour’s rookie of the 12 months for 2025 after profitable her first main on the Ladies’s Open.
