Alpine have launched Australian Jack Doohan earlier than the 2026 Components 1 season.
The 22-year-old drove in six grands prix for the Renault-owned crew at the beginning of final season earlier than being changed by Argentine Franco Colapinto.
Doohan stayed on with Alpine for the rest of final 12 months, reverting to the function of reserve driver he had held since since 2023.
Alpine have retained Estonian Paul Aron as a reserve driver, whereas Colapinto stays on as a race driver alongside Frenchman Pierre Gasly.
Alpine mentioned they’d “reached a mutual settlement with Jack Doohan to not proceed his driving companies with the crew for the 2026 FIA Components 1 World Championship season and permit him to pursue different profession alternatives”.

F1 pre-season testing begins on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 26-30 January with a personal session through which groups are allowed to run on three of the 5 days to check out their new vehicles, following the introduction of main rule modifications that embody new designs for chassis and engine.
Two three-day checks observe in Bahrain on 11-13 and 18-20 February earlier than the primary grand prix of the 24-race season in Melbourne, Australia on 6-8 March.
