Manchester Metropolis have signed goalkeeper Katie Startup from Brighton & Hove Albion on a two-year contract till the summer season of 2026.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of final season at Metropolis on an emergency mortgage from the Seagulls.
Startup started her profession at Charlton Athletic in 2017 and joined Brighton three years later. She made her debut for the membership throughout the 2021-22 season following short-term loans to Charlton and Liverpool.
On returning to Metropolis, Startup mentioned she was “actually excited” to be again, and for longer this time.
“I actually loved my time right here and I felt actually welcome, valued and I settled into the staff nicely,” she mentioned.
Metropolis head coach Gareth Taylor mentioned Startup’s expertise “was clear to see” throughout her six-week mortgage spell.
He added: “She has the precise angle and mindset to develop herself and assist us compete for all honours.”
Metropolis, who completed runners-up to Chelsea within the Ladies’s Tremendous League final season, start the brand new marketing campaign away to Arsenal on Sunday, 22 September (12:30 BST).
