England’s John Parry fired an outstanding final-round 64 to win the Mauritius Open and clinch his first DP World Tour title in 14 years.
Having began his final spherical 5 pictures again, Parry hit seven birdies and an eagle to complete on 14 below – two strokes away from South African duo Dylan Naidoo and Christo Lamprecht.
It was the 38-year-old’s first tour win since his victory on the Vivendi Cup in Sweden in 2010.
Three victories on the 2024 Problem Tour helped Parry again on to the DP World Tour, however he admitted he had thought of quitting golf throughout his time on the third-tier EuroPro Tour.
Requested what the victory in Mauritius meant to him, Parry, who finished joint-second at last week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship, instructed Sky Sports activities: “It is huge.
“I do not understand how way back, perhaps 5 or 6 years in the past after I was again on the Europro… I used to be near giving up golf.
“It has been a protracted battle again however price each second for this week.”
