Durham Cricket have introduced all-rounder Scott Borthwick has signed a two-year contract extension to grow to be a player-coach forward of the 2025 season.
The 34-year-old, who re-joined Durham in 2021 for a second spell, will step down from his position as membership captain.
In a press release Durham mentioned Borthwick will now play “an integral half” in creating gamers from the skilled groups, academy and pathway squads. He’ll stay accessible for Durham in all codecs till at the least the tip of the 2026 season.
After coming via the membership’s academy, Borthwick was a member of the Durham squad that gained three County Championships and the one-day trophy, whereas enjoying his half in guiding Durham again to Division One in 2023.
