Australia’s Tim David hit a quickfire 62 not out to present Hobart Hurricanes a five-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers within the Massive Bash League.
David, who has performed in 40 T20 internationals for Australia, hit three fours and 6 sixes in his 28-ball innings.
Jamie Overton went wicketless for 54 runs off three overs, with David scoring 25 of the 26 hit from the Surrey all-rounder’s third over because the Hurricanes chased down a goal of 187 with eight balls to spare.
A brisk 27 off 18 deliveries from Overton had helped the Strikers put up 186-5, with England Take a look at vice-captain Ollie Pope making 33 whereas Chris Lynn top-scored with 49.
David’s assault on Overton’s bowling proved to be pivotal, with one other England worldwide, Chris Jordan, hitting the profitable runs when he clipped Brendan Doggett off his legs to the boundary.
The Hurricanes’ fourth consecutive win strikes them into third place within the Massive Bash League behind leaders Sydney Sixers and second-placed Sydney Thunder.
