Former England opener Mark Stoneman has joined Somerset to work as a batting coach.
The 38-year-old who performed for Durham, Surrey, Middlesex and Hampshire over an 18-year county profession has joined on an preliminary three-month consultancy foundation.
Stoneman scored 19,864 runs throughout the three codecs of the sport and performed in 11 Check matches for England at a mean of 27.
